We’re a large and successful Scout Group with over 100 young people as members and an active team of Leaders, Instructors and Supporters working to deliver an exciting programme of activities to young people.
The 3rd Southgate Scout Group is based in Winchmore Hill, and has been around for more than 100 years.
Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts meet weekly during school term-time to develop their skills and gain badges and Scouting awards.
We have a regular programme of weekend activities that are mainly outdoor-based and include hiking, kayaking and backwoods cooking. We’re lucky enough to have a building in Wilson St, Winchmore Hill, and an outdoor site in Bourne Hill where we can teach practical outdoor skills.
Our young people regularly mention our camps as their favourite part of Scouting. We have a number of weekend camps throughout the year, and our week-long Scout Summer Camp is the highlight of our Scouting year.
The older Explorer Scouts continue with their Scouting awards but also have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
We’re based at St. Paul’s Church in Winchmore Hill, but we’re open to all young people irrespective of race or religion.
